SweeperVac is unable to sweep up smaller particles

The device stopped picking up dust and other particulate matter.

Swiffer pad needs to be replaced

The attached Swiffer pad has lost its electro-static clinging ability and needs to be replaced. Purchase new pads at a local department store or via this link: Swiffer Refills website. Then follow the pad replacement guide to replace the pad.

SweeperVac has lost suction

The device no longer picks up as much debris.

Dirt bin is full

The dirt container is located right under the green button at the front of the SweeperVac. The dirt container is full when dirt fills to the top of the dirt container. See the filter replacement guide located here: filter replacement guide to get to the dirt container. Then, turn the dirt container over a trash can to empty the dirt out.

Filter needs cleaning

The filter needs to be cleaned. Inspect the filter for any large holes or tear. Do not clean the filter with water. If there is any damage to the filter it will need to be replaced. Replacement filters can be purchased here: Swiffer SweeperVac filter refills. Once the replacement filters are purchased, you can follow the filter replacement guide to replace the filter.

The hose is clogged

The hose could contain large debris that is obstructing suction. Unclog it by removing and inspecting the hose for anything that could block airflow. A guide can be found here: Swiffer SweeperVac clogged hose

Battery needs recharging or replacement

The battery has a low charge or could need replacement, depending on its age. The battery replacement guide can be found here: battery replacement guide.

Dust escapes from SweeperVac's dirt bin

When turned on, dust plumes from the dirt bin.

Dirt bin is not attached properly

Ensure the latch creates a perfect seal for the dirt bin. Confirm that the dirt bin is not moving when it is touched. If it is, then the dirt bin is not attached correctly.

Dirt bin is full

The dirt bin should be emptied, when it is full. The dirt container is full when dirt and debris fill to the top of the dirt container. See the filter replacement guide located here: filter replacement guide to get to the dirt container. Then, turn the dirt container over a trash can to empty the dirt out.

Filter needs cleaning

SweeperVac won't turn on

No matter what you do, the SweeperVac refuses to turn on.

Battery is not charged

The most likely reason your SweeperVac will not turn on is because the battery is dead. Charge the battery with the provided charger for 12-18 hours or until green indicator light is on to ensure there is sufficient battery life.

Battery is completely dead

If you have charged your battery for 12-18 hours and the device still won't turn on, the battery can no longer hold a charge and will need to be replaced. A new battery can be purchased via this link: purchase new battery. Once you have purchased a new battery, you can replace it in the battery replacement guide.

Battery will not recharge

Turn off the Swiffer. The Swiffer cannot recharge if it is on. If after 12 hours of charging the battery is still incapable of powering the device, it will most likely need a replacement unit. A new battery can be purchased via this link: Purchase new battery.

Power button mechanism is jammed or not functioning

The mechanism for turning on the Swiffer SweeperVac may be damaged. You need to unjam or fix the green, plastic power buton.

SweeperVac loses battery charge quickly

After just a few minutes of cleaning, the vacuum dies.

Battery has lost its ability to hold a charge

When purchased new, the Swiffer SweeperVac can operate on battery power for approximately 10-12 minutes after 16 hours of charging. Ensure you are charging it for at least 12 hours to maintain optimal battery life. If the battery still will not hold a charge, it will need to be replaced. See our battery replacement guide.
